php vs .net

PHP and .Net are the two most popular languages used to create web applications and facilitate development of even some of the most complex websites. Some of the major differences between both these popular languages include:

1.PHP is a language and comprises of a platform-independent engine while asp.net is not a language and as a technology it is part of the .Net framework.
2.PHP does not follow the OOP paradigm and support only partial encapsulation while ASP.NET is completely built on OOP paradigm and follows the concepts stringently.
3.PHP is free and an open source and has IDEs that are well supported. ASP offers the Visual Studio .Net IDE that provides a range of innovative features.

The debate gets very disparaging but the fact remains that supporters need that daily dose without which they find it tough to get some sleep. The superiority of Linux web hosting over Windows web hosting and vice versa has always been intriguing. There have been arguments from both sides. Each has highlighted its pros and others cons very belligerently so that the opinion gets heard well. On paper, both look good. While in usage, both deliver well. But then, both have their own bastion of supporters who untiringly continue promoting their favorite whilst heaping scorn on the other.

Windows web hosting is vintage wine. Being one of the earliest platforms to have hosting services being put into place, windows web hosting offers a lot of benefits and advantages that you would often like to hire and will not blink twice while hearing to. The .NET framework is very strong on this pedestal. If your websites have been constructed on the .NET framework, then they you can effortlessly have them hosted. The windows hosting platform will welcome the site with open arms the way relatives embrace. Front Page Extensions are possible with windows hosting services. Microsoft Front Page can only be hosted on Windows Hosting. This application makes life simple and eases out the operational structure. If the end user wants to use dynamically driven databases, then Windows Hosting is the service to buy. The access that is provided to the end user too is very infectious.

Linux web hosting is that new age brat that has gained cult following because of its sheer vivacity and performance. It happens to be an open source software product. Hence, the licensing fee attached with it is very low in comparison to its counterparts. This is something that potential buyers take heart from. The operating system is a free operating system. That too takes away any potential cost involved. It is a guardian angel to programming languages like MySQL  PHP and PERL which can be worked upon easily on this software. The programmers working on this language relish Linux and pray for its well being! The last and most important point is that it supports multiple databases and strong ones too can be operated on it.

  1. PHP vs .NET is nothing new if you are a programmer or a student of Custom Website Development. For the uninitiated, PHP and .NET are used to create dynamic web pages connected with databases. The more appropriate term for .NET would be ASP.NET because the .NET framework supports other programming suites which have no similarity with PHP and hence no competition. We will be referring ASP.NET simply as .NET. There are several singularities of these two that we are going to see shortly and also as to which is better of the two.
